Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) is an attractive alternative to diesel for Heavy Duty Vehicles (HDV). LNG as transport fuel is costs competitive with diesel, leads to lower emissions and offers a significant reduction of engine noise. LNG is being regarded as the best available climate alternative on the market for heavy regional and long-haul transportation operations. Why? The combustion of natural gas does not emit soot, dust or fumes. This results in a 25% reduction in carbon dioxide (CO2), an 80% reduction in nitrogen oxide (NOx) and a 97% reduction in carbon monoxide (CO) emissions. This makes that LNG is quickly becoming a mainstream fuel for transportation needs.
